Do I have to wear PE clothes to class each day?
Yes. Students will dress out for PE each day unless their instructor tells them otherwise.
Can I wear leggings?
Yes. But students need to wear their PE shorts OVER their leggings.
Can I wear any shoes I want? Vans?
Yes and No. Students are encouraged to wear comfortable closed toed shoes for working out. If you wear Vans, those are fine. Boots, sandals, etc. are NOT allowed to be worn in class. It is recommended that students leave a pair of shoes for their PE class in their locker.
Can I wear my own shorts or shirt?
No. Students are required to wear the NU PE uniform each day for class. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors need to wear solid colored clothing. Solid colored shorts. Solid colored shirt (limited lettering or art). Also, students must change into PE clothes. The clothes you wear cannot be the clothes you wore to school. Wearing the same clothes as you do to school constitutes as a non dress.
Do I get a PE locker?
Yes. Students will be assigned a PE locker. Please purchase a combination lock (key locks have keys that usually get lost). Please lock your locker whenever you are away from it.
I noticed showers in the locker room. Do I have to shower?
Showering after PE class is encouraged, but no student is required to shower.
I am really attached to my phone and earbuds. Can I bring them to PE class?
Phones and accessories should be left in your locked locker. Students will have phones taken from them if they are brought to class.
What happens if I miss a class because I have an appointment or I'm sick for a day?

I am an athlete on a NU sports team. My coach told me not to work out or "do" PE on game day. What should I do?
You are a student in a PE class. You will participate in your PE class everyday (part of your grade) including any day you have a game.
